  • Constipation? 8 Natural Ways to Help Get Things Moving Again

Constipation? 8 Natural Ways to Help Get Things Moving Again

Constipation: Passing everything except the bathroom.

Constipation isn’t exactly a topic most of us enjoy talking about. But if you’re struggling with infrequent bowel movements, bloating, or feeling uncomfortable, you’re definitely not alone.

Many women over 40 experience constipation from time to time. Stress, diet, dehydration, medications, hormonal changes, and a busy lifestyle can all play a role.

The good news? Small daily habits may help support healthy digestion. Here is natural constipation relief:

    1. Drink More Water

Your digestive system needs water to help keep things moving.

Aim to drink water consistently throughout the day instead of waiting until you feel thirsty.

    2. Eat More High-Fiber Foods

Fiber helps add bulk to your stool and supports regular bowel movements. Foods that help constipation include:

    Great choices include:

    • Apples
    • Pears
    • Berries
    • Oatmeal
    • Beans
    • Lentils
    • Broccoli
    • Chia seeds
    • Flaxseed

Increase fiber gradually and be sure to drink plenty of water.

    3. Take a Daily Walk

Movement helps stimulate your digestive system.

Even a 15 to 20-minute walk each day can support healthy bowel function.

    4. Listen to Your Body

When you feel the urge to go, don’t ignore it.

Delaying bowel movements repeatedly can make constipation worse over time.

    5. Feed Your Gut

Your gut bacteria play an important role in digestion.

Enjoy foods like yogurt with live cultures, kefir, sauerkraut, or other fermented foods if they fit your diet.

    6. Create a Morning Routine

Many people find that sitting on the toilet for a few minutes after breakfast each morning helps establish a regular routine.

Consistency is often more important than rushing.

    7. Manage Stress

Your brain and digestive system are closely connected.

Prayer, journaling, deep breathing, spending time outside, and quiet moments can all help support your body’s natural digestive processes.

    8. Know When to See Your Doctor

    Occasional constipation is common.

However, if you’re experiencing severe constipation, blood in your stool, persistent vomiting, significant weight loss, severe abdominal pain, or constipation that doesn’t improve, it’s important to seek medical evaluation. I hope this helps us all know how to stay regular after 40.

    Wellness Products I Personally Enjoy

Healthy habits are always my first recommendation, but I also enjoy a few Young Living products as part of my daily wellness routine.

    Life 9®

Life 9 is a probiotic supplement that helps support a healthy balance of beneficial intestinal bacteria as part of a healthy digestive routine.

    Detoxzyme®

Detoxzyme contains enzymes that help break down proteins, fats, carbohydrates, lactose, and fiber as part of normal digestion.

    Daily Prebiotic Fiber™

Daily Prebiotic Fiber is a fiber supplement designed to complement a healthy diet and support digestive wellness. I enjoy using it alongside plenty of water, fiber-rich foods, and regular movement.

Please note: These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. I simply enjoy using them as part of a healthy lifestyle that includes good nutrition, hydration, movement, and healthy daily habits.

    The Bottom Line

If you’ve been wondering, “Why am I so constipated?”, remember that your digestive system often responds best to small, consistent habits.

Start by drinking more water, eating more fiber, walking every day, and creating a regular routine.

Small steps really do add up.

  • Why Do I Have No Motivation? 6 Simple Ways to Get Moving Again After 40

Why Do I Have No Motivation? 6 Simple Ways to Get Moving Again After 40

    Motivation

Motivation? Have you ever looked around your house and thought, “I know exactly what I need to do… I just can’t seem to get started?”

You’re not lazy. You’re not failing. And you’re definitely not alone. Ever wondered why middle aged women lack motivation?

Many women over 40 notice they don’t have the motivation they once had. Between work, family responsibilities, hormonal changes, stress, and simply taking care of everyone else, it’s easy to feel mentally and physically drained.

The good news? You don’t need to completely change your life overnight. Often, it’s the small daily habits that help create momentum and get us moving again. With small tweaks motivation is restored!

Here are six simple ideas that may help motivation:

    1. End Your Day with a Gratitude Journal will increase motivation

Before you go to bed, write down three things you’re thankful for. They don’t have to be big things. Maybe it’s a beautiful sunset. A cup of coffee with a friend, hug from your child, or even an answered prayer.

Ending your day with gratitude can help shift your focus from everything that’s weighing you down to the blessings that are already around you. This brings lasting motivation as life looks brighter, and less daunting.

    2. Start Your Morning with Hydration and ElectrolytesThis is huge motivation for me

After sleeping for several hours, your body naturally wakes up dehydrated. Before reaching for another cup of coffee, drink a glass of water or an electrolyte drink.

Many people find they feel more refreshed and ready to start the day when they begin with proper hydration. I feel a bit of energy flood my being when I do this.

May I suggest Drip Drop? I just did an Instagram reel suggesting this. It isn’t the most clean electrolyte, but it sure helps me first thing in the morning. The other one I like is made by Just Ingredients.

    3. Get Outside for Morning Sunlight

One of the simplest things you can do is step outside for 10 to 15 minutes shortly after waking up. Morning sunlight helps support your body’s natural internal clock and can help you feel more awake during the day.

Take your coffee outside. Walk around the block. Sit on your porch. It’s something about being outdoors that supports motivation. It doesn’t have to be complicated.

    4. Write Down Tomorrow’s Three Priorities

One of the biggest motivation killers is decision fatigue.

Instead of waking up wondering where to begin, spend two minutes before bed writing down the three most important things you’d like to accomplish tomorrow.

When you wake up, you already have a plan. Small plans often create big momentum. Momentum equates to motivation.

    5. Celebrate One Win Every Day

Most of us finish one task and immediately think about everything we still haven’t done.

Instead, pause for a moment. Celebrate one victory.

Maybe you drank more water or cleaned the kitchen, or you simply made it through a difficult day. Small victories matter because they build confidence and remind us that progress is happening; which increases motivation.

    6. Stop Waiting to Feel Motivated

This may be the biggest mindset shift of all. Many people believe motivation comes first. In reality, action often comes first.

Don’t wait until you feel like organizing the house. Put away five things. Don’t wait until you feel like exercising. Walk for five minutes. Don’t wait until you feel inspired. Start anyway.

Momentum is often created by taking one small step. Which essentially is motivation.

How often have I wanted to call off an appointment or project because I felt “under the weather;” only to find that once I started going, I felt great? Sometimes we have have to kick our own ace, and get moving!

    Wellness Products I Personally Enjoy

Healthy habits are always my first recommendation. Along with nutritious food, hydration, sunlight, and healthy routines, I also enjoy using a few Young Living products as part of my daily wellness routine.

    Super B®

Super B contains several B vitamins that help support normal energy metabolism. Since B vitamins help the body convert food into energy, I enjoy taking it as part of my morning routine.

My big joke is that “I’m a Super B without Super B.” It sounds funny, but it’s true. I feel so much better taking this. My kids, I’m quite certain, would say I am nicer as well.

    Motivation: Super B

    NingXia Red®

NingXia Red is an antioxidant-rich wellness drink made with wolfberries and other fruit juices. I enjoy starting my morning with a serving as part of my overall wellness routine.

When I drink NingXia Red daily, I tend to be healthier. Feeling stronger, without battling symptoms is a great way to gain motivation.

    NingXia Red Drink

    Zyng®

When I need an afternoon boost, I enjoy Zyng. It contains naturally sourced caffeine and is a refreshing alternative to another cup of coffee for many people.

My favorite hobby currently is getting young people to switch from over the counter, popular energy drinks to Zyng. This is a much healthier, pure solution with a guaranteed no need to go to the ER after drinking one or two. This is such great peace of mind for parents.

Please note: These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. I simply enjoy using them as part of a healthy lifestyle that includes nutritious food, hydration, movement, sunlight, and stress management.

    The Bottom Line

If you’ve been wondering, “Why do I have no motivation?”, please know that you’re not alone.

Life after 40 can be busy, stressful, and overwhelming. But you don’t have to change everything today.

    Choose one small habit.

    Then another.

Over time, those little choices can build the momentum you’ve been looking for.

    Remember…

    Small steps create big change.

  • Why Can’t I Concentrate Anymore? 5 Simple Ways to Improve Focus After 40

Why Can’t I Concentrate Anymore? 5 Simple Ways to Improve Focus After 40

    Focus After 40

Focus after 40? Let’s talk, have you ever walked into a room and forgotten why you were there? Or found yourself reading the same paragraph three times because your mind kept wandering?

If so, you’re not alone. Many women over 40 notice changes in their ability to focus. Hormonal changes, stress, poor sleep, and our always-connected world can all make concentrating feel more difficult than it used to.

The good news? There are simple habits that may help support better focus and mental clarity.

    1. Focus after 40: Prioritize Quality Sleep

Your brain needs time to rest and recharge. During sleep, your body processes memories, clears waste products from the brain, and prepares you for the next day.

Aim for a consistent bedtime and create a relaxing evening routine whenever possible.

    2. Focus after 40: Stay Hydrated

Even mild dehydration can affect concentration and energy.

Keep a water bottle nearby and sip throughout the day instead of waiting until you’re thirsty.

    3. Focus after 40: Feed Your Brain

Your brain works hard all day and needs quality fuel.

    Focus on:

    • Lean protein
    • Healthy fats
    • Colorful fruits and vegetables
    • Whole grains
    • Omega-3-rich foods

Balanced meals help support steady energy and concentration.

    4. Focus after 40: Give Your Brain a Break

Our brains weren’t designed to multitask all day.

Try working on one task at a time. Taking a short five-minute walk, stretching, or simply stepping away from your screen can help you return with a clearer mind.

    5. Focus after 40: Manage Everyday Stress

Long-term stress can make it difficult to think clearly.

Prayer, deep breathing, journaling, time outside, and regular movement are simple ways to help calm your mind and support your overall well-being.

    Wellness Products I Personally Enjoy

Healthy habits are always my first recommendation, but I also enjoy a few Young Living products as part of my daily wellness routine.

    MindWise®

MindWise contains ingredients selected to support cognitive wellness as part of a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy taking it when I want to support my daily focus and mental clarity.

    Mindwise Dietary supplement

Brain Power is a favorite in my morning routine. I enjoy its uplifting aroma while I’m reading, writing, or working on creative projects.

    NingXia Red®

NingXia Red is an antioxidant-rich drink made with wolfberries and other fruit juices. I enjoy starting my day with it as part of my overall wellness routine.

    NingXia Red Drink

Please note: These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. I simply enjoy using them alongside healthy habits like nutritious food, movement, quality sleep, and stress management.

    The Bottom Line

If you’ve been wondering, “Why can’t I concentrate anymore?”, remember that you’re not alone. Focus is influenced by many everyday habits, and small improvements can make a meaningful difference over time.

Start with one healthy change this week. Your brain—and your body—will thank you.

  • Healthier Hair? How to Support Hair after 40

Healthier Hair? How to Support Hair after 40

    Healthier Hair:

Healthier hair normally stays on your head and doesn’t slowly disappear. Have you noticed more hair in your brush or shower drain lately?

If so, you’re not alone. Many women begin noticing changes in their hair after 40. It can be frustrating, discouraging, and even affect your confidence. The good news is that hair changes are common, and there are several healthy habits that may help support healthy hair growth over time.

Here are five simple places to start.

    Help hair grow

    1. For Healthier Hair: Make Sure You’re Eating Enough Protein

Hair is primarily made of protein, so getting enough each day is important. Many women unintentionally eat too little protein, especially at breakfast.

    Try including foods like:

    • Eggs
    • Greek yogurt
    • Chicken or turkey
    • Fish
    • Cottage cheese
    • Beans and lentils

A balanced diet provides the building blocks your body needs to support healthy hair.

    2. For Healthier Hair: Manage Everyday Stress

Long-term stress can affect many systems in the body, including the normal hair growth cycle.

Simple ways to reduce stress include:

    • Daily prayer
    • Walking outside
    • Deep breathing
    • Journaling
    • Getting enough sleep

Even a few quiet minutes each day can make a difference.

    3. For Healthier Hair: Support Your Body with Good Nutrition

Hair health depends on overall wellness.

    Focus on:

    • Colorful fruits and vegetables
    • Healthy fats like olive oil and avocado
    • Omega-3-rich foods
    • Staying hydrated

A healthy body creates the best environment for healthy hair.

    4. Be Gentle with Your Hair

Sometimes our daily habits contribute to unnecessary breakage.

    Try to:

    • Avoid excessive heat styling
    • Use a gentle shampoo and conditioner
    • Limit tight hairstyles
    • Use a wide-tooth comb on wet hair
    • Skip harsh chemical treatments whenever possible

Small changes can help protect the hair you already have.

    5. For Healthier Hair: Talk With Your Healthcare Provider

Hair changes can have many causes, including hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies, certain medications, genetics, or medical conditions.

If your hair loss is sudden, severe, or continues to worsen, it’s a good idea to discuss it with your healthcare provider so they can help identify possible causes.

    Wellness Products I Personally Enjoy

Healthy hair starts with healthy habits, but I also enjoy using a few Young Living products as part of my personal wellness routine.

    Cedar Wood Essential Oil

Cedar wood essential oil is thought to promote hair growth by stimulating the hair follicles and increasing blood circulation to the scalp. Enhanced blood flow delivers more oxygen and vital nutrients to the hair roots, which can encourage new growth and help slow down hair thinning. Additionally, cedarwood possesses natural antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, which help clear up scalp issues like dandruff or dryness that can otherwise stifle healthy hair development. Often blended with carrier oils like jojoba or grape seed, it helps create a healthier, more balanced environment for your hair to thrive.

    Sulfurzyme®

Sulfurzyme contains MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), an ingredient many people choose to include as part of their wellness routine to support healthy connective tissues and overall wellness.

After my husband left me in 2022, I truly believe Sulfurzyme helped me get my hair back. It took about six months, but this supplement is powerful.

    Version 1.0.0

    NingXia Red®

NingXia Red is an antioxidant-rich drink made with wolfberries and other fruit juices. I enjoy it as a simple way to add antioxidant-rich ingredients to my daily routine.

Please note: These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. I simply enjoy incorporating them into my healthy lifestyle alongside nutritious food, regular movement, quality sleep, and stress management.

    NingXia Red Drink

    The Bottom Line

If you’ve been wondering, “Why am I losing my hair after 40?” know that you’re not alone. While hair changes can feel discouraging, small, consistent habits often make the biggest difference over time.

    Mighty Movement is Formed

    A MIGHTY MOVEMENT

We each want to be seen and known here! From the happily married woman, to the immigrant using translate to read these words, to the sex trafficed, the addicted, the overlooked, the widowed, the single-mom, the divorcee, the influencer, the broke, the worn out, the thriving, the rich, the poor, the over-achiever, or the just barely getting by, and everyone in between, we are here for YOU! Please, give us your wisdom, share your experience, cultivate community here.

Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start writing!

22 David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. When his brothers and his father’s household heard about it, they went down to him there. All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their commander. About four hundred men were with him.

From there David went to Mizpah in Moab and said to the king of Moab, “Would you let my father and mother come and stay with you until I learn what God will do for me?” So he left them with the king of Moab, and they stayed with him as long as David was in the stronghold.

But the prophet Gad said to David, “Do not stay in the stronghold. Go into the land of Judah.” So David left and went to the forest of Hereth.

    1 Samuel 22:1-5

Isolated.  Lonely.  Alone.  Distressed.  In debt.  Discontented.  I identify with these verses, but instead of finding us in a cave we were in the isolation of quarantine in 2020 during Covid19.

Four friends messaged me often in distress.  Time was lingering like a bad rash.  There was distress over where we would buy toilet paper, what would become of our jobs, and our futures.

Thus, I put all five of us in a Facebook Group.  What was meant to facilitate complaints and chains, has become a catalyst for prayer, camaraderie, and revival. This Group has brought thousands added friends, focus, support, help, assistance, encouragement, community, light-heartedness, smiles, fun, and more.

    Connection Needed

We want you to be a part of this connection, this movement.  Feeling heard and seen is our specialty.

We want to wrap arms of faith around each other and gird each other up with strength and grace.  Celebrating each other, and supporting each other through crisis is what we do. We want to be the voice of faith crying out to circumstances that seem impossible.

Today, we may find ourselves in the categories of in debt, distressed, and discontent.  Please don’t drown in those conditions alone!  Reach out.  Acknowledge the state we may be in, but get help.  Share prayer requests, dive into the resources in this website (more will be posted gradually).  Comment, share, shine bright.

    Belonging

We each want to be seen and known here!  From the happily married woman, to the immigrant using translate to read these words, to the sex trafficed, the addicted, the overlooked, the widowed, the single-mom, the divorcee, the influencer, the broke, the worn out, the thriving, the rich, the poor, the over-achiever, or the just barely getting by, and everyone in between; we are here for YOU!

Please, give us your wisdom, share your experience, cultivate community here.  Life can be so, so challenging; let’s never do it alone.  Share the funny, share the difficult.  Most importantly, if you feel lonely, if you find yourself alone.  Please don’t stay there.  Make this a garden where you are planted, blossom, and grow.

    My Story

I too, have found myself needing a tribe.  Negative experiences have filled my life including: the church banning me, been fired from jobs, been rejected by my former husband, been forced to find work, while caring for medically fragile children.  I find myself like David, overlooked.

David wasn’t even on his dad’s radar as a possibility to be chosen king.  His brothers made fun of him for being a shepherd.  His wife thought he was crazy for his freeing worship style, and yet…

God chose David to be King!  God didn’t just determine him to be king, no, God called David a man after His own heart.

    Labels

Today, please know: we may have been labeled trash, well I see treasure and so does the King of Kings.  We may have been reduced, used, maybe even abused… but God sees us vitally important, even for His frontlines.

Please, dear Friend: remember what the Bible says, God chooses what is foolish to the world to shame the wise.  We may not be someone’s first pick, but sure enough… WE MATTER!

    Revival Is Here

I pray we find pure, fire here!  My prayer is that we come together, stand together in prayer and experience REVIVAL.  I pray we rally around one another: no fake, no pretense, no masks; only a desire to hear, “Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord.”  We can’t do it alone.  Alone, we will have the devil eating our lunch, and destroying us.  But together, as a movement, as a team… we triumph, we grow, we fulfill our full potential; our destiny, the reason we are alive.

So sister, let’s throw off the grave clothes.  Let’s cast off the garment of sadness.  And, let’s speak up, shining brightly.  Cheering on, not only each other, but our Maker, our Master, our Savior, Jesus, who deserves all admiration forever more.

Time is short.  Tomorrow is not promised.  Let’s seize the day, and gather as many in with us; going out in glory… a glorious bride, without spot, wrinkle, or blemish.  The past is behind us.  Let us make the future bright, helping each other right now in the present.

Truly, what we do today, determines our tomorrows.  Let us experience the gift of now… the gift we call the present.  I believe it will be so much sweeter, if we live not as an island alone, but tethered to one another a united team… determined to help each other thrive, and soar like never before.

I am so glad you are here!  You aren’t staying in the state you are today.  We are growing, transforming, into all that God has called us to be… together.  The best is yet to be, together: you and me with Jesus!  Thank you, and let’s see what is next.  I know it is going to be so so so very good!  Thank you.

I see you.  You are known here, but more importantly: Jesus sees and knows you too.  He cares so very much about you!  Stick around.  You are going to be so very, very blessed.
