Deliverance Ditches and Middle Way Safety
Deliverance. I’ve had this burning in my
:

Discernment has to be the name of the game in this hour. Matthew 24:24 says even the elect can be deceived.
I urge us all to focus on God’s Word and His Promises. Matthew 7 tells us narrow is the gate. In this hour, let us make sure we stay “middle,” of the road, not in a ditch on either side.
Deliverance, witchcraft, curses, and other varying topics, I see a smattering of in the Bible. Making them the WHOLE pursuit, when they are meant to be a dish served in the meal, not the whole thing – is error.
I too went through a season in my life where the person closest to me kept telling me that I was demonically influenced. Today, four years later, I am in such a better place!
God says what he has blessed can not be cursed! Live free… indeed. – Numbers 23:8, Genesis 12:3, and Deuteronomy 23:5
No doubt the deliverance ministry was helpful, but most of my freedom has come through hours pouring over the Word of God, casting down thoughts, and building healthy habits and routines. (Romans 12:2, John 15:3).
Deliverance: Who is Glorified
It concerns me when everything is a demon. The thinking there is a demon behind every bush is grieving. Who is being glorified? I truly believe there is power in deliverance – no doubt. There is a ditch of compulsively seeking freedom that troubles my heart. Disciples of Jesus are supposed to be free… indeed (John 8:31-36).
Verses such as Colossians 1:13 assure us that we have been translated into the Kingdom of Light. Ephesians 2:6 says we are seated with Christ in the Heavenly places. 1 John 4:4 (the very verse I heard audibly back when I was 14 years old in 1990, deeply involved in witchcraft activity) says GREATER IS HE WHO IS IN YOU THAN HE THATS IN THE WORLD.
Keep looking at who we are in Jesus. Put God’s Word in us we don’t need it, so it comes out when we do! (Matthew 12:36).
These verses are true or they are not. I believe the church in this hour needs to revisit how power full renewing our minds are (Romans 12:2). How transforming it is living FULL of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18), daily. I pray we return to our roots of seeing who we are in Christ instead of seeking repetitive personal deliverance ministry. Even Jesus instructed us, “Matthew 12:43-45 describes the return of an unclean spirit. When an unclean spirit leaves a person, it wanders through arid places seeking rest but finding none. It then returns to its former “house” (the person it left), finding it empty, swept, and put in order. The spirit then brings with it seven other, more evil spirits, and they all enter and dwell there, making the person’s final state worse than the first. “
Deliverance – Consider Christ’s Finished Work
Let’s make sure we aren’t seeking someone else to provide us with an event of freedom and then forasaking a life long fellowship and adventure of freedom with Jesus! I finish this with thoughts of Galatians 5:1-7, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” And then verse 7, “You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth?”
Hebrews 6:1-2 lays out the pillars of our Christian faith. There is plenty of “meat,” for a full meal in those verses. Let’s master those basics, in exploring those scriptures, I assure you, you’ll experience a level of personal freedom that you’ve been longing for.
My point is there is place for deliverance. It should be a stop in the road, not the whole journey. Let’s pursue whole heartily a life longing of the living Word of God! Let’s also know them who labor among us (that’s a topic for another day).
Fall back in love with Jesus again. As we chase Him, we experience His power – Matthew 6:33. Be blessed. Reach out for Jesus! When ministers (people) can’t be reached, He is an ever present Help.
Victory is in Jesus! 2 Corinthians 2:14.
